Rebecca Loveless is a passionate word lover and the current Structured Word Inquiry Coach at The Nueva School. After receiving a BA in Linguistics (University of Oregon) and a MA in Education (Language and Literacy emphasis, Santa Clara University), she taught in elementary classrooms for fifteen years, including eight years at Nueva. Once she discovered the joy of teaching SWI, she left the classroom to work one-on- one with students and study orthography. Outside of her work at Nueva, Rebecca leads workshops and professional development courses with teachers and schools working to incorporate SWI. She is an integral member of the international SWI community: a group of dedicated teachers, tutors, and therapists working to deepen their understanding of the English language and developing practices to best serve all students.
